Where the lighthouse shines across the bay,
There's a cottage kissed by fume and spray,

From a tiny cottage thatched with straw,
Stands a fair-haired lassie at the door star gazing.
Watching the dark clouds, dreading the gale,
Counting the days since her lover set sail.
Where the lighthouse shines across the bay,
Seagulls on the shore have heard her say:

The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) says the English version of the film was called "F.P.1" in the UK, "F.P.1 Doesn't Answer" in the US, and "Where the Lighthouse Shines Across the Bay" in Australia; and the German version was called " F.P.1 Antwortet Nicht."

Different actors were used in the German version; Hans Albers played the role that Conrad Veidt played in the English version. Google finds more than 100 references to Albers' recording of the German version of the song: "Ganz dahinten, wo der Leuchtturm steht" which is credited to Allan Gray and Walter Reisch. (Babelfish stumbles over the translation of "dahinten", but the meaning seems to be "[Something something] Where the Lighthouse Stands.")
