That is actually true about the 'poaching' and the next vehicle being able to pick it up. Round about this time of year, in various places in the UK (The New Forest being one), you can see late night drivers in pairs, the first in a land rover or similar, well built vehicle, the other in a small van or car with a large boot. They go hunting in packs. The first vehicle hits the deer and drives off, the second stops and picks it up. If ever stopped by the police, there is no trace evidence of a hit on the vehicle carrying the carcase.

Glad you are OK. As a secondary victim of drunk drivers (my brother was killed by one), I know the misery it causes to people.
