RR, Christmas lights are an organic lifeform. Their natural state is linear, but when they are not "lit" (a technical term dealing with their seasonal nature) they attempt to reproduce.(1) They will make this attempt no matter how you arranged them when you "put them away."(2) Your annual attempts to "straighten them out" are not so much reducing a tangle as uncoupling an orgy.(3)


(1) Being a sterile lifeform this attempt fails, but they do have fun trying.

(2) Never use this phrase in their hearing, as they make not differentiation between "put" and "throw." If they hear this phrase they will engage in an even more complex orgy during the "off" season, hoping to at least have a little fun before the Big Off.

(3) The National Safety Council suggest quite strongly that no matter what your feeling are you do NOT join them. No matter how wired you are you could be shocked if you plug into this.
