I used to get Lipton Dinners to take mountain climbing because they were a lot more affordable than the freeze-dried Mountain House (I think was the brand) food that one found at REI and other outdoors stores. I haven't been backpacking for a long time but I still remember fondly how good those things tasted when you were perched outside your tent on the side of a mountain.

They're horrible if you try to eat them when you're in town. Other foods that taste much better when you're miles up in the mountains are canned chicken (it's great to boost the meat content of the Lipton dinners), boullion (though I have been known to drink that on rare occasion at home), canned pudding, and Vienna sausages, though I won't even eat those in the mountains. But I have friends who will.
