this is no joke, Carol...you know Rita and her medical history. Well, she worked out in the last year or so that High Fructose Corn Syrup gives her various allergic reactions. This is a 'fairly' new thing, but products she used to eat now upset her quite a bit. She LOVES Prego sauce for Italian foods, but is now trying a couple of off-brands that have no Corn Syrup and adding spices to suit...The situation has pretty radically changed what we eat everyday.

Simple answer...it's cheaper. A web search on "High Fructose Corn Syrup" will show you others with the same concern.
