Latest word from the United States Geological Survey is that we should expect many aftershocks some of magnitude 5 or more. They also said that there is a possibility of an even bigger quake in the immediate future in which case they would call this one a foreshock. Translation: They have no idea.

It's been almost three hours now and we've had at least a dozen aftershocks. Our mess is just about cleaned up now.

We are less than 50 miles from the San Andreas earthquake fault which is the major fault in the U.S. It extends several hundred miles through both San Francisco and Los Angeles. Mudlark is considerably closer to this fault but that wasn't the one that moved this time.

There are now at least two fatalities in Paso Robles and one historic house burned to the ground in our town.

We haven't been into town yet but we'll post again after we have been.
