EELS

Americans do not eat eels. Europeans do eat eels. Many Americans do eat catfish. I don't know if Europeans eat catfish or not. I imagine they do. Anybody that would voluntarilly eat an eel shouldn't have any problem with a catfish.

One of my favorite fiddle tunes is "Nail That Catfish to the Tree". I doubt it would have the same appeal if it was called "Nail That Eel to the Tree".

To fish for eels is to sniggle and a person who fishes for eels is a sniggler. This is good to know if you do a lot of crossword puzzles. It is also a seven-letter word in Scrabble which will get you an extra fifty points.
