I came across a Renaissance troup singing chanteys at the Cleveland, Ohio, tall ships festival. Their chorus to "Paddy Lay Back" went:

Paddy, lay back, take in your slack.
Take a turn around the capstan, heave and haul.
Around ship's station, boys, be handy,
We're bound for better horizons 'round the Horn.

The version most folks sing is:

Paddy, lay back...
Take a turn around the capstan, heave a pawl.
'Bout ship stations, boys, be handy,
We're bound for Val-a-pariso 'round the Horn.
