There was a poem / monologue popular in the East Donegal area during the '20s describing the effects of the short skirts worn by young ladies of the time. It has the lines:- "I wonder now what Rab would say About the short skirts of to-day; What would he think of the short skirt movement ? Like me, he'd think it a great improvement....."
