A question for the polymaths (a better way to say it than know-it-alls) at Mudcat: I got herself an OXO kettle for christmas, which managed to boil itself dry about 2 days later. The information that came with it says "under no circumstances should this kettle be used again if it boils dry." She says that she has boiled dry many kettles in her life, continued to use them without any harm, and doesn't see why this one should be different. Does anybody know why an OXO brand kettle should be special?
