I start to clear out the vast loads of crap I've assembled over the past year. I also try to spend a week sewing so I've got some trousers to wear that you can't actually read a paper through! Need to do something drastic this year - someone is coming to stay at the end of this month and his bed is covered in fabric bolts and piles of paper!

As for the decorations, this year I might actually manage to take them all down - although the dining room will look strange without it, there's one garland that's been up for 3 years now.... I just change the decorations on it!
