What we've done this year is eat black-eyed peas for five friggin' days and nights and I'm sick of 'em!!!! We hosted a New Years Day party for which we cooked six (dried) pounds of black-eyed peas plus lots of brown rice, the traditional "good luck in the new year" meal. The party was a smash, but the blackeyed peas barely got touched. I would freeze 'em, but they cost so little to make that it's just not worth it. So, we've been eating them for lunch and supper since. It's been kinda nice to not have to cook, but enough is enough! They're going into the compost pile this afternoon and I'm cooking spaghetti!
