Not a fair analogy. It's got to be Eastern Europe and Western Europe.
"America" is used colloquially to refer to a single large country situated in North America. But no one would use "America" to refer to North America as such, as opposed to South America; they'd say North America and South America. (Or perhaps they'd say Latin America as against English-speaking America - which must piss off the French in Canada.)
Sometimes people do use "Europe" to refer to the European Union - but that now includes large parts of what is generally refered to as Eastern Europe. (And there are some people in England who use "Europe" to refer to everything the other side of the channel. But that's another matter.)
