An exercise, if you will, on a lazy Sunday, for all you bright and witty souls. I give you an example, then send you on your way, but only if you promise to share! This then go do, starting at any place in the alphabet, start a poem or song, let each line then start with the next letter of the alphabet until you go full circle. Oh...the thought for the day? HAVE FUN!A humble offering of first attempt:
ALPHARHYME
And once again, we start our story
By the side of the brook in the woods.
Carefully chosen, our words do speak of
Dragons and knights and deeds of good.
Even though they're just a thought,
Far away, in a land of yore, with
Galloping steeds, and valleys wide,
High mountains with peaks of myth,
In our minds, we're already there.
Just 'cross the dale and over the hill (sorry, :-) a little trite sounding!)
Keen winds rustle through the brush of
Ladyslipper blossoms, bluebonnets, until
Moist winds rush and howl into the
Night of darkening clouds and stars' dim lights.
Open our eyes next morning, and see, a
Path of shining stones leading to the heights.
Quicksilver glints along the way
Reminding us of where we dare not tread.
Soothsayers were they ones who say
Threnetic cries are heard
Until they fall, a piercing through the breast
Vile stench foretells of death's foul bringer.
While enchanted champions awake, past the test,
Xiphopagus, with terrible visage, descends.
Yowls when taken by sword unto its death.
Zephyr clears away the dream: Awake!
