I picked up this book at a yard sale. It's been re-bound and the title pages are missing, but on page 1 it says "The English and Scottish Legendary Ballads". It begins with Sir Patrick Spens, Edom O'Gordon, The Heir of Linne, the Merchant's Daughter of Bristowe... and the last entry is a 50-page long Robin Hood.

From the notes to the individual songs, it appears that the editor did quite a lot of collating from different versions. He mentions Child, Buchan, Percy and numerous other sources. Who can tell me what I've got here?
