If you were a whelk,you would want to be fully equipped for the N Lincolnshire Front, maybe we should have a whip round & provide the poor buggers some flak jackets, grenades, exocet missiles etc. We'll have to have a word with the Ayatollah, I'm sure he'd help. However, we must be careful, no use helping the whelks now when it suits our purposes to have them turn against us at a later date. We would have to spend years watching them subjugate Barrow-on-Humber, trying to negotiate then resorting to sanctions, then when they've nearly decimated the local population we'd eventually have to march in & sort out the mess that we'd begun by supporing their rise to power....tricky.
