I watched the SOTU speech. He said what I expected.

Does anyone else think it a bit silly to have all the applause and standing ovations during any SOTU speech? Then some commentator states that the speech was interrupted 70 times by applause and enumerates the number of standing ovations.

Tradition I guess.
