OK, here's a version found on the Net:

Ellen Brown

O as I went out one evening in haste to have some fun
It was down by Dublin City I carelessly did stray
I was meeting with my comrades in the outskirts of the town
Ah but who did chance to come my way but lovely Ellen Brown?

--Ah sure I'm goin down to Donnybrook Fair--And so am I, said she
At yonder bar there's a jauntin car and on it we'll go down
There is no one could be happier, twas by her I sat down
I was admirin all the beauty of lovely Ellen Brown

And sure when we reached to Donnybrook we pulled into a tent
That's where we spent our evening enjoyin aliment
There is no one could be happier, twas by her I sat down
I was admirin all the beauty of lovely Ellen Brown

Arrah but when the dance was over a bed we did prepare
And as what did follow after that the truth I will declare
She took from me my watch and chain, likewise my fifty pound
And she left me bare, jacknaked there as I lay on the ground

Arrah come on my handsome young men and a warnin take by me
Don't you ever (?) a darkhaired girl, I hope you will agree
She will finger all your money and she'll leave you bare in town
And she'll leave you to curse Donnybrook like me with Ellen Brown

This looks fairly close to the song as I know it. "Aliment" is puzzling - my recollection is "enjoying the merriment".
