Yes I wondered about a vuture but they don't pick blossoms. "John" is a common name for the Crow in old English crow-scaring songs. Of course there are JACKdaws too, which are the same family. The JIM Crow song, and name, rather took over during the 19th Century, but before that the Crow was often JOHN. It would be good to hear from an African on the subject. Joy
