I do that all the time. New strings are difficult to keep in tune. I use steel strings, don't know what nylon strings are like. I feel that they need time to adjust. I don't know what concert pitch is, I just put them on, tighten a little and then put the guitar on its' stand. I do try to keep it in a warm place in winter and a cool place in summer.
