I'm very impressed with what Mrs. Edwards had to say about the ABC act in NC, which is (she claims) the inspiration for No Child Left Behind (except the ABC has funding behind it!). She and her husband also put their money where their mouth is and opened a pilot Learning Center across from a city high school in Raleigh. Talking with their daughter and Ms. Close, it appears that childhood issues are a very high priority with them.

Mrs. Edwards had to hurry off to another dinner, so I didn't get to talk further with her. But I believe Edwards is best known for his health care stand.

I don't know if he'll make it in NH (I wish I'd had this experience 2 weeks before the primary instead of 2 days!) but I have my fingers crossed.
