Thread Name: Lyr Req: Old Spinning Wheel (Billy Hill)
Subject: RE: Spinning Wheel in the Parlor - More?
This is what I have it was written and recorded in 1933 by Billy Hill and it goes like this:
VERSE 1: Covered with dust and forgotten Like the face upon the wall The one souvenir of days gone by I treasure most of all
CHORUS: There's an old spinning wheel in the parlor Spinning dreams of long, long ago Spinning dreams of an old fashioned garden And a maid with an old fashioned beau Sometimes it seems that I can hear her in the twilight At the organ softly singing Old Black Joe There's an old spinning wheel in the parlor Spinning dreams of the long, long ago
