Oh how right you are, Mary Garvey. I was interviewed by three people once when in dire need of a job; in the middle of the interview, tea and biscuits were served - to them - and they ate and drank in front of me without offering me a bite.

Incidentally, in Ireland those no-thanks letters are known as PFOs; the P stands for Please and the O for Off.
