Thread Name: Tech: Netscape 7.1: where's the Trash?
Subject: RE: Tech: Netscape 7.1: where's the Trash?
I have a two-stage email process. The mail addresses I have set up through Earthlink are set to the "highest" filtering level, meaning that if they're not named in my web address book they don't get through. They go into two folders, "known" spam and "suspected" spam. There is a list of "known spam" because before I ratcheted up the settings I could click on them (in my web mail) and add them to the spam list. But they don't let you block more than 500 addresses, and that filled up fast.

I first go into by web access to each address, and I give a quick glance to the names before I dump them from the spam. Sometimes an old friend ends up in there, in which case I click on "move to Inbox and add to list." Easy. I try not to glance at the subject list of the spam--I don't want to see that teens are having sex with their pets! After I've filtered that stuff I log off and open my regular email clients and download the good mail and it is removed from the server at that time. Earthlink uses what it calls its "Spaminator." The software is put out by a company called "Brightmail."
