Yes - I have the same thing about books, too. When I got married, my husband had all my books put up in the loft, and there they stayed hidden away for 15 years. He regarded books as just so much clutter. It was the start of the disappearance of "me". We divorced and I moved to my own place four years ago, and the books and I, and my real self, the real "me" have been gradually reunited with each other. It's a wonderful feeling after having been so lost, so long.
