Today I received a new (to me, at least) twist.   It said:

http:// (link deleted here.)

This link will allow you to skip the sign up process on future visits.
(MY COMMENT: Visits to what? They don't say.)

There was a footnote that CLAIMED that I had requested to be added to this database. I certainly didn't. This is a trap for the unwary, of course, with the purpose of gathering and validating spam targets. BEWARE!
