The Dalry Cat



I'm a cat, I'm a cat, I'm a Dalry cat

And I roam o'er valley and hill

I've a lust and a thirst for to do my worst

Determined for to kill

I'm no the kind of cat that sat on the mat

As a pet, I'm no to keep

I'm wild, and I'm free, nothing worries me

But I worry the occasional sheep.



Up on the moors round Dalry way

I was hunting the other night

Sniffed a flock of ewes, that was sure good news

I was hungry and fancied a bite

But before my eyes, they were in disguise

Green and purple and blue

I'd never seen punk sheep, not even in my sleep

So I rounded up a few



I don't eat blue food, it never tastes too good

And deep purple is a colour that I hate

But a hungry cat likes sheep plump and fat

His appetite for to sate

So what's a cat to do? I'll give you a clue

It's not as difficult as it seems

The answer's very nice; I took my mother's advice

She said 'Always eat your greens'!
