Some pubs have a core group of musicians who they 'pay' to be regulars for the session. It doesn't mean you can't join in, just go up and ask if they mind most people are very accomodating. Another thing... take your instrument with you to the pub gig thing. Sometimes afterwards there might be a session on after. Or leave it in the boot of your car.

Go to Dingle - it's beaut - my fave place. Drive through and head towards the pennisula - a truly rewarding drive out!

Yes, I'd agree with Gargoyle about the Ring of Kerry can be very touristy. I've had many a fine time in Sligo too.

Most sessions don't start till way after 9pm - be prepared for a late night (long night). Have a kip before you go out I find always helps... though its never stopped any of us from having a kip in the session and then going on to the second wind...
