After checking my own recommendations, I found that one of my favorite groups, Atwater-Donnelly, is playing locally, Saturday at The Vanilla Bean, here in Pomfret, CT (about an hour from Hartford).

Their style is Celtic and American folk - I'd probably say Appalachian - sounds like your kind of stuff. If you think you'd like it, let me know. I'm about 5 minutes away and will probably go. Definitely, if you can make it.
