The Canadian Journal for Traditional Music Vol 1 (1973) includes a "Reference List on Canadian Folk Music" compiled by Edith Fowke - one of the sections is on recordings from traditional sources. You can see the list online here - look for Section III-1 (more than 3/4 down the page).
