Thread Name: BS good name for hamster
Subject: RE: BS good name for hamster
How about ,.gargoyl;e (has to be spelt right, of course)

I was having a deep and meaningful talk with Himself over dinner tonight, and the conversation led (as it does) to the topic "What would you call your hamster?" . Well he was deep in thought for a while, then he said "Is it male or female?"

I said "You know, I have no idea. Does it matter?"

He said, "I have always thought when I looked at hamsters' faces that they are rather serious, intellectual little creatures, so I think they should have a name that befits that - you know, ancient Roman, or Greek, or something".

Then he started to write a list of names, and here are some of them:

Euphrastus
Aloysius
Ignatius
Columbanus
Euripides}   \ the tailors
Eumenides}/
Socrates
Sacheverall \ after Edith Sitwell's
Osbert          / brothers

and here are a few of mine in the same vein:

Aristocles
Tiberius
Damocles
Abelard
Cornelius
Achilles
Abundiantus (yes, this does exist, it is Latin for plentiful)
Absolom

As you can see, this important subject has been taken very seriously and has provoked much thought and soul-searching.

Or else we really need to get a life :-)
