I live in Anchorage, Alaska. The largest of the United States as well as the furthest north. We don't have counties in Alaska. Some of the state is divided into "boroughs" and there are some incorporated cities and towns, but most of the state is independent of local governments.

Alaska has more powerful earthquakes than California (and more often), more active volcanos than Hawaii, more lakes than Minnesota (over 3 million), and more coastline than all the rest of the United States put together. But we only have a bit more than 600,000 people living in the whole state. So there is room for anyone who wants to visit.
