Last month I stood in for a friend and played at a Barn Dance. I played my 1938 Martin. Someone tried to buy it Cheap, they offered $2,000. Cheap in relative.I did have a once in a life time buy. I purchased a 25 year old National Nickel Plated Mandolin for $35.00. The old timer wanted me to have the Mandolin to "Tell the Story of it's history". For $35.00 he gave it to me.
One of my interests is going to Garage Sales and buying cheap (Broken) guitars, fixing them up and giving them to kids with a few free lessons to get them started. Most of the Kids have pasted up my skills. One is now making his living with a guitar. He pointed me out at a concert with over 1,000 in attendance, He said, "thats the man that taught me how to play the Guitar". That made all me Garage Sale Hunting worth while.
