2. Am I naive, or are there some folk who play professionally who love the music and play it even when it isn't their work?

Possibly you/I/we are naive?

But that's our trade, and what we listen to for fun is very different."

Not too sure if Eliza was saying that she didn't love the music although it sounds a bit like coming home from the office and needing to do something different - like walking with the dog.

The problem with folk music becoming generally popular (again) is that the special link between those who scratch a living from the music - do become seperated from their old audience and those who may perform alongside (unpaid). Eliza is being interviewed 'at home' because she needs to earn a living and is now seen as a celebrity. We may have to get used to it and possibly next year see her on TV eating bugs in the Australian jungle - like John Lydon?
