Thread Name: Tech: Eudora won't install
Subject: RE: Tech: Eudora won't install
I've installed Eudora and I know that the free version of this very good program does include adware that the "anti" tools will delete. The licensed version of Eudora isn't supposed to include the adware and doesn't force you watch adds so if you have trouble you may want to try the licensed version. It may still contain the hooks for ads that the adware fighters will find but that is okay, you're not obligated to have the hooks included.
Eudora for Windows is professionally packaged with installer and scripts so I doubt there is a problem there.
The free version of Eudora includes a license that must be agreed to in order to install the program. That license requires that you leave the ad mechanisms in place. You can choose where in the program window you'd like the ads to appear but you're legally bound to let them be presented. As I said, I don't know whether that agreement is technically enforced or just relys on the honor system.
