I couldn't imagine Patrick (the character played by Angus Deayton in OFITG) getting upset because he hadn't seen Victor for a while...

I'd have thought that have been just the kind of thing to get him really worried. You always like to know where your enemies are. (The joke, of course, was that Patrick and Victor were essentially very similar, though at different ages, which is why they loathed each other.)
