Subject: RE: New Tom Russell CD: Indians Horses Cowbo
what's a cowbo? I composed a wonderful post, which got eaten by mud cat somehow...I wll try to re-formulate it: Among the many gems on this is one of the most touching love songs I have heard lately..one which praises the power of music and I am always attracted to those songs! No Telling (There's no telling what a love song can do)is sweet, and there are songs here which have heroes, unsung and otherwise, whose stories are inspirational. Edward Abbey, Chief Seattle, Ira Hayes and others who stood their ground and made their mark, including old blue the dog who lost part of an ear to a bear. Reilly's daughter is one of the people in the song about 7 curses. Thanks for posting this! (and I wonder whose daughter you are, really?!) Andrew's guitar work is always phenominal, and there is also accordion and a contribution from the ever-amazing fiddler from Hot Club of Cow Town as well as vocals by Eliza Gilkyson. Listen for the Plaza Monumental Juarez Bull Ring Band! Yippee ti yi yo for Indians Cowboys Horses and Dogs!
