Habershon was the original, Fanny Crosby ca. 1907, A. P. Carter after WW1 (1930s). Haven't seen the movie, but the Carter version would be wrong for the period.

The Grand Old Opry traditionally used the Crosby version, but I seem to remember it evolved into the Carter version
