I missed the second round of responses to this thread and am glad to see it revived. As this has been one of my favortite fiddle tunes since hearing it in California in the mid 1970s. When I got back to Arkansas I kept waiting for it to appear in fiddle contests which it eventually did but close to ten years after I had first heard it. It does take a while for the mid-south to catch up to the coasts. Glad to know the origins of the beautiful piece. Thanks to all.
