Yesterday I was loaned 20 CD's of tape recordings made at a folk club I helped run in the East End. These were made on 3.5" spools with a mic that looked like it came from a Christmas cracker, so the quality ain't good. But there is Carthy, Swarbrick, Brimstone, Murphy, Silvo, Foreman, Campbell, Al Stewart et al.
One of the songs is the one below, does anyone have any idea where it came from? I know the lyrics are not great but enthusiasm shown by the audience for the chorus makes me think it must have been well known.
