I was raised a couple of miles from bunker after bunker filled with thermonuclear weapons and danged if that isn't exactly how everyone I knew, Air Force personnel included, pronounced "nuclear". Heck, at least in my imagination that's how I recall LBJ pronouncing it. Maybe I'm wrong because I only heard him speak in person once.
