Dear Kat -- I'm so sorry that you lost your old friend, but glad he died in the sunshine of your home and of a person who loved him, fed him, and will sing for his spirit. My old cat Tossie (my very first pet ever)is 17+ and having a hard time getting around. I don't think it's going to be too long before she joins Shadow, a day I dread. I'm at work now (where the computer lives), but when I get home will get out the words to "The Shepherd's Call," a wonderful song by Valentine Doyle, a fine songwriter from Connecticut. (I think Sandy Paton knows her, and probably lots of other 'catters.) I tried to learn it after my mom died, and just couldn't sing it without choking up. It is perfect for this occasion, though, and I will post it to you first thing tomorrow morning (or even tonight, if I can figure out how). Love and hugs to you, Kat, Kathy
