I'm not too bothered about the tradition (or lack of it) but we always enjoy any Morris dancing. It is colouful, lively, noisy fun and rather quaint, long may it continue in England.
My youngest used to be petrifeid by a bunch of dancers from Bradford who used to dance at Beverley Folk Festival, because they used to appear with blacked up faces and straggly black outfits. Anyone know who they were?
