I finally left Scotland to live in London many years ago .. basically because I wanted to write a republican LP and no one in the scottish scene would or could tolerate that. Years later and after many recorded songs I returned for Dominic Behan's funeral. Afterwards I was in comapany with Janet McGinn (Matt's widow), Norman and Janey Buchan, Gordon McCulloch, the singer/banjo player. It didn't take long before the conversation was dominated by Glasgow/Rangers songs and jokes. I'm afraid I left in total disgust and sadness in discovering that Scotland hadn't moved on in 40 years.
