There was a pop group in "The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy" who played their instruments remotely from space. Their Sound System exceeded tha arms limitation treaties in most inhabited solar systems and needed the power of a medium sized star to drive it. They were best heard from an adjacent star system.
