Midchuck, you've got an easier faster trip than Jeri and Kendall. If you put both Pittsford and Darlington in Yahoo Maps it's only a 6 and a half hour drive. NY 87 and then over to 95 it's a pretty straight line and you'd avoid most of the big city snarls.... really there's no excuse...

6 1/2 hours? Possibly. If I had a Ferrari, diplomatic immunity, and a passenger who was an expert pistol shot, carrying a couple of Desert Eagle .44 mags with armor-piercing ammo...

Looks like I'd come down the Northway and NY Thruway to 287, and loop around the major NY/NJ metropolitan area to the west, then pick up 95. It looks doable, except that so much of it is in NJ, and it's a given in Vermont that every single last New Jersey driver is crazier than a shithouse rat. And on a friday evening, they're all going to be drunk, too.

This will require thought.
