I'd get something sticky with a peel-off backing. I'd punch holes in it. A leather punch would do nicely in making smaller dots. You're a manly-man and should have a leather punch, right? Then you peel off the backing and stick 'em on. Afterwards, cover them with clear nail polish. Seriously, you should be able to find some sort of plastic stickers you could punch holes in and wouldn't absorb dirt and hand slime like paper computer labels would.
