Linda (Essex Girl) and I keep thinking about a trip across the atlantic during one autumn, and Micca was trying to persuade us that we ought to go to Getaway. The main problem is the fact that Linda has a 15 year old son (no he most definitely wouldn't want to come to anything folkie). Unfortunately the date doesn't look as though it would fit in with his falf-term holiday at the moment, but we might be able to sort something out.

Can someone give us any idea of how Getaway's organised and what it costs. We both enjoy impromptu song/music sessions and at most UK festivals are much more likely to be found in the "fringe" pub events (often running them ourselves) rather than the big concerts.

How easy is it to get there from the UK ? - Micca reckons that it's easiest to fly to Washington and travel from there.
