As is always the case, the true winners on the day were the supporting fans of both sides. Fuelled by alcohol before and during the game and totally integrated within the stadium there was good humour and sportmanship demonstrated throughout. My personal highlight(other than the result) was observing a friend asking directions from a mounted policeman after the game as the horse casually ate the pocket of his Barbour jacket.
