DougR, clear whiskey is legal. I've got several bottles at home, so if you're around Pocatello, let me know and I'll stand you a drink or two or three or.... (I also bought some white whiskey in Virginia some years ago -- it was labeled "Moonshine" and was made in a legal distillery in Culpepper.)
